Givaudan is a flavor and fragrance company headquartered in Switzerland with a strong background in ingredient research, mainly on synthetic materials but also on naturals using enzymatic reactions. The goal to produce robust oxidative enzymes for use in an industrial environment is very attractive to the chemistry teams working in Process Research and Process Development.
Givaudan’s main role in ROBOX is to receive early technologies in WP3 and robust systems in WP4, with the goal to run Kg-reactions according to the established SOP. There is ample flexibility to experiment at 100 g – 1 kg scale, and batches up to 100L volume can be considered. Givaudan is also supporting the selection of substrates to be used for early characterization of the different enzyme classes, in order to broaden the perspectives of the enzyme platform technologies that are developed during WP1 and WP2 by expert teams.
“The research for this work has received funding from the European Union (EU) project ROBOX (grant agreement n° 635734) under EU’s Horizon 2020 Programme Research and Innovation actions H2020-LEIT BIO-2014-1”
