Europe around the Corner

Friday May 13th a nationwide promotion action was held in the Netherlands with the title “Europe around the corner”. Citizens could visit participating sites and learn about projects that are financed by the European Union and why this is important. One of these events took place at the Brightlands Campus in Geleen, NL, where one of the major DSM laboratories is located and where we presented the ROBOX project. Whereas there was a limited number of attendees (about 50), it must be emphasized that most of these were seriously interested and represented a good mix of Geleen citizens and other professionals of the Chemelot site.

(This was the sixth edition of the ‘Europe around the corner’ open days, and other EU member states have now adopted this concept. Last year the campaign in the Netherlands won a European Public Communication Award.)
