In our publication “A Prospective Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Monomer Synthesis: Comparison of Biocatalytic and Oxidative Chemistry” out partners University of Maastrict and DTU have analysed our biochemical synthesis of lactones obtained by Baeyer–Villiger oxidation and compared this to more traditional chemical methods.
This allowed us to quantify the environmental impact of our products taking into account its entire life cycle as per ISO 14044:2006.
H2020Robox
The European Union has selected the ROBOX proposal as H2020 project. This project has 19 partners and will be coordinated by DSM Geleen. The proposal "ROBOX: Expanding the Industrial Use of Robust Oxidative Biocatalysts for the Conversion and Production of Alcohols" took first place in the selection.
